Professional Background

Todd's career spans multiple industries and continents. Following his service as a veteran of the United States Air Force and his studies in Economics with a minor in Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Todd spent eight years in the mortgage banking industry, working for Guaranty Federal Savings Bank in Texas and First Interstate Mortgage in California. He then transitioned into international information technology consulting, working with prestigious organizations including AT&T, Texas Instruments (Japan), the International Foundation for Elections Systems (IFES), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and the Commission for Real Property Claims of Displaced Persons and Refugees (CRPC) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The PETSAppeal Journey

From 2004 to 2010, Todd owned and operated two pet grooming salons, boarding kennels, and daycares in California and Washington State. It was during this hands-on experience that he recognized a critical gap in the market—existing software solutions didn't address the comprehensive needs of multi-service pet care businesses. Drawing on his software development skills that began in the mid-to-late 1980s, Todd created the first version of PETSAppeal in 2004. The software has been continuously serving the pet care industry ever since, evolving with the needs of business owners who understand the unique challenges of the industry.

Current Endeavors & Vision

In 2025, Todd made the strategic decision to transition PETSAppeal to the cloud, exponentially expanding its reach and functionality to serve pet care businesses worldwide. This move represents not just a technological advancement, but a commitment to making comprehensive pet care management accessible to businesses of all sizes. Under his leadership, PETSAppeal continues to innovate, bringing practical solutions born from real-world experience to the pet care industry.

Personal Connection to Pet Care

Todd's commitment to animal welfare extends far beyond software development. He currently owns Port Orchard Parrots Plus, a parrot supply and services store in Port Orchard, Washington, and serves as Executive Director of Port Orchard Parrot Rescue and Sanctuary. As a dedicated "parront," Todd shares his life with Zaire, Simba, and Africa (Congo African Grey Parrots), Buttercup (Sun Conure), and Atlas (a Hyacinth Macaw). This personal connection to pet care drives his passion for creating tools that help pet care professionals provide the best possible service to animals and their families.
